Caño Canoas and Siete Machos are two natural gems in the heart of Meta. Caño Canoas is considered the most beautiful waterfall in Colombia. Siete Machos is a nearly 3-hour riverside trail where pink macarenias color the water between June and November.

The journey departs from Mesetas at 4:30 a.m. along unpaved roads. It is approximately a 7-hour journey into the mountain range. For groups of 3 or more, transportation is in a 4x4 truck, with the option to ride inside the cab or in the back. For 1 or 2 people, transfer is by motorcycle. A journey that is truly part of the adventure.

Is this tour the same as Caño Cristales?
No. TUREM does not operate Caño Cristales. Customized requests can be arranged separately. Caño Canoas is the most beautiful waterfall in Colombia, and Siete Machos features the same colorful Macarenia clavigera plants along a 3-hour riverside trail.
Why is departure at 4:30 a.m.?
The trip from Mesetas to the mountain range takes about 7 hours along an unpaved road. An early departure ensures you arrive at each spot with plenty of time. Groups of 3 or more travel by 4x4. For 1 or 2 travelers, the transfer is by motorcycle.
What is the accommodation like?
You will stay in a local cabin. The facilities are simple and functional, fully in tune with the natural surroundings. Dinner and Day 2 breakfast are included.
Does this trip run year-round?
No. It only operates between June and November, which is the Macarenia season. Outside of this window, the package is unavailable. Early-bird booking is open through our communication channels.
What is the cancellation policy?
Reservations are confirmed with a 30% deposit. No refunds are made once the reservation is confirmed. Rescheduling without penalty is available with 7 days' notice or if TUREM cancels due to weather conditions.

How to get to Mesetas, Meta

Mesetas is approximately 6 hours from Bogotá by road. The route goes through Villavicencio toward San Juan de Arama and then directly to Mesetas.
